Lead Engineer

Otsy, Inc. is the world’s first social travel marketplace, transforming the way travel is discovered, trusted and booked. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Engineer to join our talented development team. You will work creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions to account for others’ developmental activities. This position will demand critical thinking skills, ability to quickly understand existing systems and the ability to work in agile, fast paced environments. The ability to take smart and educated risks is essential to the success of this position.

Our office is located on the beautiful Las Vegas Strip, and if selected, you will be working with a small team of talented developers and designers.

• • Be open minded, forward thinking, and passionate about great software 
  • Think about how to solve problems in scale and build fault tolerant systems 
  • Develop testable, high-quality, and ship-ready code with ample test coverage 
  • Work with Product Management and other developers to understand and translate engineering requirements into design requirements and provide estimates 
  • Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and development and release of products
  • Drive technical solutions in collaboration with product team

• • Experiences with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control (git) build process, testing, and code release
  • Knowledge in API design and architecture
  • Deep curiosity in emerging technology and digital trends
  • Proven experience as a lead engineer or similar role, with a strong background in system design and functionalities
  • Possess knowledge in modern cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP
  • Critical thinker, adept in understanding business needs in a growing company
  • Strong technical skills in Python, Enterprise Architecture design, technology assessment, and Knowledge of Security standards
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies, programming languages, and database technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • 5+ years of professional experience 
  • 2+ years of experience working with Big Data
  • 2+ years of experience as a system architect, project manager, or equivalent position
  • Ability and desire to move across technology stacks 
  • A passion to learn new software technologies
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment

• Salesforce experience is a big plus
• Proven experience in the travel industry or with travel-related technologies a plus

Hourly compensation based on skill level and experience. Comprehensive benefits package offered to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
