Every September, a growing colony of friendly Magellanic penguins settles in El Pedral. A guided walk among their nests will allow you to get to know those curious animals better. El Pedral maintains a beach control and cleaning scheme, also collaborating with the GPS foundation (Global Penguin Society), which monitors the Magellanic penguin colony in Punta Ninfas.
Just 15 minutes from the stay, high on the cliff at the southern end of the New Gulf mouth, is the Punta Ninfas lighthouse. Valuable reference for navigators entering the New Gulf, it also fulfills its faithful duty as a watcher of the arrival of the first whales to the gulf each year, on the cold days of May. The view from the cliff of the Punta Ninfas lighthouse will make you feel privileged, part of a different, magical, and incredible landscape.
